What to Do with Old iPhone Cases

Disposing of your iPhone safely and sustainably can be tricky. Every time we upgrade phones, we get a new case and are left wondering what to do with the old one.
We have some nifty tips for what to do with old iPhone cases. You can recycle, upcycle, sell, donate, or use it on another iPhone, and we’ll tell you all about it.
Recycle
Depending on the material used for production, an iPhone case may or may not be recyclable. At Burga, the plastics we use are 100% recyclable. Polycarbonate (PC) and thermoplastic polyurethane can even be recycled multiple times to make new items.
You might have to find a specialized plant near you in order to do this, though. But it’s very worth it if you’re just going to throw it away otherwise.
Upcycle
Upcycling is a fun and clever way to repurpose your old iPhone cases. Here are some great ideas for upcycling your old phone cases.
You can zip-tie your old phone case to your luggage through its camera hole. This way you can tag your luggage to find it easily. you can also glue your contact details or business card to the phone case.
Old phone cases can be great holders for soap or sponges. The camera hole is perfect for draining water.
If you want a convenient and pocket-sized notebook, you can repurpose your phone case into one. Attach a sticky note pad to the inside of the case with super glue or double-sided tape. You can also attach a pen if you want to.
Phone cases also make for awesome trays and holders for smaller items that get lost easily or lie around the house. Repurpose your case into a tray for jewelry, beads, buttons, coins, nuts, bolts – anything! This is helpful around the house, and while traveling or camping.
Old phone cases can also come in handy in the kitchen. If you are cooking, mixing, and stirring with different utensils, you can rest your utensils on the phone case. This way your utensils won’t dirty your tabletops.
Sell It
How much are phone cases? Well, cases that are protective and trendy can cost a pretty penny.
That is why selling your iPhone case is a great idea for a little extra cash. Your buyer will also be happy to save some money with their purchase.

Donate It

There are cases for different iPhones that are compatible, although some of them might cover the camera or have misplaced side buttons.
An iPhone XS Max case, for example, can work for an iPhone 11 Pro Max, but it might not align perfectly.
